An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 529 ENTITLED: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR NURSERIES AND CHILD CARE FACILITIES WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", BY CHANGING THE DEFINITION OF COMMERCIAL NURSERY TO PROHIBIT ANY CHILD UNDER THE AGE OF ONE YEAR TO BE ADMITTED TO A DAY NURSERY OR COMMERCIAL NURSERY FOR NOT MORE THAN A FORTY-EIGHT HOUR PERIOD; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Jarrett and Sharp was read in full to the Board at this time. Thereafter Commissioner Jarrett moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 563 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE REFUSAL TO ISSUE BUSINESS LICENSES' OR FOR THE REVOCATION OF BUSINESS LICENSES IN CERTAIN INSTANCES; PRO­VIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Whipple moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 564 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO PROMOTE THE PROTECTION OF HEALTH, COMFORT, SAFETY, LIFE, WELFARE AND PROPERTY OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND FOR THE PRESERVATION OF PEACE AND GOOD ORDER; FOR THE SUPPRESSION AND PREVENTION OF VICE WITHIN THE CITY BE PROHIBITING LOITERING AND PROWLING UPON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROPERTY IN THE NIGHTTIME; BY PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Jarrett moved the above entitled ordinance No. 565 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance on Commissioners Voting restrictions requested additional time before reporting. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24 of the LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, by AMENDING THE LAND USE ELAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Jarrett and Sharp was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Sharp moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 566 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE AND CONTROL TRAFFIC BY DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREETS AND PARTS OF STREETS WHEREIN TRAFFIC SHALL MOVE ONLY IN ONE DIRECTION; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; was read by title and referred to Commissioners Sharp and Whipple for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE CREATING A CITY PLANNING COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE MEMBERS OF SAID COMMISSION; PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Sharp was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Sharp moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 567 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 439 ENTITLED: " AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE MOVING OF BUILDINGS HOUSE AND STRUCTURES ALONG HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND ALLEYS IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY BUILDING INSPECTOR TO ISSUE PERMITS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO," AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, WAS READ by title and referred to Commissioners Sharp and Whipple for recommendation. 8-5-53
