Carney Thereafter Mayor Baker announced that this matter would be referred to the City Manager and the City Attorney so that the protests can be checked, and a decision as to whether or not this property will be annexed will be made at a later time. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of bids for the installation of a sprinkler system at the Ball Park, Bid No. 57.02, proposals were received from the following firms: I II Alternate III IV AUTCMATIC IRRIGATION CO. $17,290.95 $17,881.70 $16,909.65 $17,500.40 LONGLEY CONSTRUCTION CO. $24,311.26 $24,311.26 $24,311.26 $24,311.26 NEVADA LAWN $19,499.64 $17,546.97 $18,175.23 $16,225.64 Commissioner Sharp moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Director of Public Works for analysis and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 57.04 for a towing contract, bids were received from the following firms: GENE'S AUTO BODY $210.00 per month ELLINGHAM'S 275.00 per month Mr. Wayne Kirsh appeared before the Commission and requested that a committee be appointed from the Board to meet with the other towing firms to see if an alternate proposal can be worked out. Commissioner Fountain and Whipple were appointed on this committee. The Commission considered the matter concerning whether or not the license of Mrs. Rose Underwood to operate a Child Nursery known as the Baby-Tel should be revoked for violations reported by the Child Welfare Board. City Attorney Cannon advised the Commission that he and the Child Welfare Board had met with Mrs. Underwood and that a letter has been sent indicating changes that are to be made. He suggested that this hearing be continued until the next meeting. Mrs. Lillian Kaercher of the Child Welfare Board was also present and advised the Commission that it was their recommendation that this hearing be continued. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved this matter be continued until the next meeting on February 6, 1957. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The Commission considered the application of the City of Las Vegas for reclassification of the east 140 feet of the N½ of the NW¼ of the SE¼ of Section 28, T20S, R61E, from R-1 to R-2. The recommendation of the Planning Commission was that this application be approved. Commissioner Sharp moved the Planning Commission recommendation be accepted and this application for rezoning approved.
