I envision a region where all sorors, undergraduate, graduate chapter, general, silver star, golden soror, have a vested interest in who we are and what we do. I envision a region where sorors will have the motivation and resources to be steppers in Alpha Kappa Alpha and in their communities. I envision a region where we will continue be a model for other regions. I am Steppin’ Up to Service, how about you?
Soror Norma Soloman White 25th Supreme Basileus
When I think of a qualified leader, I think of one who is a positive role model, one who is a visionary, dedicated, resourceful, cheerful, competent, eager, inspiring, courageous, unselfish, honest, businesslike, cooperative, supportive, assertive, articulate and fair. Soror Lavonne Lewis has been observed in various roles in the sorority, in the workplace and in the community. She always exemplified the quality of leadership and finer womanhood.

Developing a comprehensive reclamation campaign that will encourage chapters in close proximity to pool their resources in planning activities that are exciting, enlightening, and enticing and that will ultimately heighten retention efforts of all chapters. Working to enhance the Sorority’s presence throughout the Region. Making the implementation of our International Program a regional as well as a chapter priority, by encouraging and facilitating effective planning and collaboration, and demonstrating in work and deed that the stepped up service of the Far Western Region, tells our story.
Enhancing the status of all undergraduate chapters by fostering a stronger relationship between sponsoring graduate chapters and their undergraduate chapters and by strengthening all procedures for ensuring accountability.
Soror Billie Knightmayford Basileus
Let me share with you my goals as I propose to "Step Up to Service" by becoming your Far Western Regional Director. Because we believe that we have greater laurels to win and greater tasks to begin, we share a vision for the future for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Far Western Region. That vision suggests that the needs of our membership as well as our communities are changing, and in "Steppin’ Up to Service," we must be agents for change. We must lead the charge in our chapters to inform our sorors and our communities of issues that affect the quality of their lives. We must work to improve the situation of those less fortunate than us.
