Schellack, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Foreman of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a daily newspaper, of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached was continuously published in said newspaper for a period of two (2) insertions from February 13, 1953 to February 22, 1953, inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates, to-wit: February 15,22, 1953. ORDINANCE NO. 522 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 233, ALSO KNOWN AS CHAPTER 7 CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY CHANGING THE PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEES FOR BILLBOARD AND ELECTRICAL SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR DETAILED INFORMATION TO BE FURNISHED THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT UPON APPLICATION FOR A PERMIT; PROVIDING PROCEDURE FOR VIOLATIONS; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas does ordain as follows: SECTION l. Section 3 of Ordinance 233, also known as Section 2, Chapter 7, Code of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949 is hereby amended to read as follows: It shall be unlawful for any person to erect, repair, alter, relocate or maintain within the City of Las Vegas, any sign or other advertising structure as defined by the ordinances of the City, without first obtaining an erection permit from the Building Inspector and making payment of the required fees. All illuminated signs shall, in addition, conform to the provisions of the National Electrical Code and Las Vegas Electrical Codes, Application for erection permits shall be made upon blanks provided by the Building Inspector, and shall contain or have attached thereto the following information: (1) Name, address and telephone number of applicant. (2) Location of building, structure, or lot to which or upon which the sign or other advertising structure is to be attached or erected. (3) Position of the sign or other advertising structure in relation to nearby buildings or structures. (4) Two blueprints or ink drawings of the plans and specifications and method of construction and attachment to the building or in the ground. (5) Copy of stress sheets and calculations showing the structure is designed for dead load and wind pressure in any direction in the amount required by the ordinances of the city. (6) Name of person, firm, corporation or association erecting structure. (7) Written consent of the owner of the building, structure, or land to which or on which the structure is to be erected. (8) Any electrical permit required and issued for said sign. (9) Actual valuation of sign. (10) Such other information as the Building Inspector shall require to show full compliance with this and all other laws and ordinances of the City. SECTION 2. Section 3 of Ordinance 233, also known as Section 3, Chapter 7, Code of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949, is hereby amended to read as follows: PERMIT FEES. For erection of signs, billboards, or display panels: Minimum fee..............................••••• $2.00 From 20 Sq. feet to 30 Sq. feet (Outside Measure). ... 3.00 From 30 Sq. feet to 100 Sq. feet(Outside Measure). ... 5.00 From 100 Sq. feet to 200 Sq. feet ( Outside Measure ... 7.00 From 200 Square feet and upwards . . . . . . . .10.00 V type or double faced signs or billboards one and one-half times the fee for single faced signs PERMIT FEES.
