BOX 1510 CBS 1230 ON YOUR DIAL TELEPHONE 7 35-6 6 33 December 21, 1967 l Mr* A1 Freeman Sands Hotel Las Vegas Blvd. So, Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Al: As you know, KLAV is emanating the CBS Dance PartyS^oadcasts "live" on the entire CBS Radio Network on New Yea^s Eve, I mentioned^that it would be good from 11:00 to 11:30 PM and Jerry Gray from the Sahara from 11:30 to 12:00 mid- night, I happened to bump into "The Chief" and Joe and we spoke of the aforementioned show,,*budgets,.*etc, Louis mentioned he would like the exposure and would fit the bill. We notified CBS and knew that the schedules were already in the fire, Mr, Tiecher put us on a stand-by. As might be expected, Dave Bradley called to tell me that there was no guarantee that Don Rickies would be off at 11:30 (his show begins in the Convention Hall of the hotel at 10:30). As you know, the networks can not operate on speculation, I called Tiecher to tell him of my predicament. He mentioned switching the time to Prima and Co, Tiecher also mentioned that every major band in the country was trying to get on this show. You see, this show will be aired on 260 stations throughout the country..this means all the big cities where there is a CBS Affiliate. KLAV furnishes!, the engineer (Roy Ward of Dynamic Sound) and Doug Davies, the announcer. Quality is the best with Telefunken mikes and Ampex equipment, I trust you will be proud of the shows and the exposure. The Chief and Co. are naturals for this night. CBS is delighted to have the Sands on the New Year's Eve Dance Party.
