Notti City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Commissioner Whipple moved that Payroll Warrants #7379 through #7838 in the net amount of $55,181.06 be approved and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye, noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved that Service and Material Warrants #52627 to #52756 inclusive in the total amount of $111,364.46 be approved and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the minutes of July 7; 9; and 13, 1954, be approved by reference and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. This being the time heretofore set for the public hearing on the vacation of that part of North 9th Street lying west of Lots 2-6 inclusive, Block 3, of the Grandview Addition and to the east line of Lot "I", Bucks Addition and the east line of 9th St. the matter was considered by the Board. His Honor asked if there were any objections to this vacation. There were no objections voiced. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved to continue this public hearing until August 4, 1954 at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of bids on Bid No. 54.21, the sprinkling system for Stewart Avenue Park the matter was considered by the Board and bids were received from the following firms: Galv. Pipe Transit Pipe AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION 13,661.69 13,758.36 13,886.22 REITZ SALES 29,433.70 LONGLEY CONSTRUCTION 15,566.14 15,007.30 Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager for study and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. This being the time heretofore set for the opening of bids on Bid No. 54.22, springling system for Madison School Park, the matter was considered by the Board and bids were received from the following firms: Galv. Pipe Transit Pipe AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION 7,360.88 7,108.12 6,721.88 REITZ SALES 192,692.19 LONGLEY CONSTRUCTION 8,199.57 7,435.05 Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved to refer the foregoing bids to the City Manager for study and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time City Engineer George Wade reported that the final acceptance of Ridgeview Tract Nos. 5 and 6 had been held in abeyance for some time due to the fact that the light poles had not been painted; however, that is completed now and Mr. Wade recommended that this final acceptance be approved. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the final acceptance on Ridgeview Tracts Nos. 5 and 6 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The City Engineer requested permission to purchase a blueprint machine and paper in the amount of $2,176.54. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the City Engineer be authorized to purchase a blueprint machine and paper in the amount of $2,176.54 and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign the warrant when prepared. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved the date for the opening of bids for signal lights at major intersections be set for August 18, 1954 at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the City Engineer requested permission to spend $1,450.00 to move four houses in the Zaugg Tract that are located in the right-Of-Ways. Thereafter Commissioner Jarrett moved the request of the Engineering Department to spend $1,450.00 to remove the said houses be approved. 7-21-54
