Las Vegas - March 1, 195** PERSONAL W 26 Mr. L. V. Peart - Omaha cc: Mr. Ned Doty I know that you are very much Interested In the Water District's plans for taking over the Water Company, Las Vegas, and feel that it Is Important that you should receive the benefit of any information along this line that may become available to me. UJ With this thought in mind, I am sending you herewith copy of a letter which Mr. Bennett received from Mr. James L. Beebe of Ohe Law Firm of O'Melvaney & Myers, representing the Water District n matters pertaining to the purchase of the Water Company * Las Vegas. HIS The attachment to Mr. Beebe's letter gives a tentative schedule for T—yth© various steps to be taken by the Water District prior to the r-4ale date and indicates that there is a possibility of the Water District taking over on May 1, 195*** It is my opinion that the schedule indicated in attachment to Mr. Beebe's letter is somewhat /Optimistic and probably should be taken with a grain of salt. However, it indicates that the District is now pushing the deal, and I believe we can expect some action in the near future. In line with our telephone conversation this date, I agree that it might be well for you to undertake a complete audit of our accounts as quickly as possible in view of the tentative program set up by the attached letters. Also in view of the fact that our accounts have not been audited for approximately two years, it might be desirable to complete an audit before the sal© date comes around so that any errors that may have occurred during this two-year period could be straightened out before the District moves in.
