Los Angeles, December 11, 19 5 0 Mr* Reinhardt: Confirming our conversation relative to installation of pumps on Wells Nos. 8 , 10 and 11, at Las Vegas, Nevada: Attached is Form 30 data for proposed installation of turbine pumps on Wells Nos. 8 and 10 and centrifugal pump on Well No. 11 at estimated cost Inv. $1 5 ,8 7 0 , 0. E. $780, Total $1 6 ,6 5 0 . Due to fact well easing on No. 11 is 1 0 -3/ M O.D. and 10" I.D., none of the pump companies can install turbine pumps in this well which will produce as much water as centrifugal pumps. We obtained proposals from four pump companies as indicated on attached detailed canvass of bids. Quotations received from Worthington Pump and Machinery Corporation and Johnston Pump Company are very nearly the same so far as price is concerned. However, Johnston Pump Co. desires to remove our standard cross from all the wells, whereas we desire them left intact. Furthermore, Johnston Pump Co. does not manufacture oentrifugal pumps, and did not submit a proposal for same. Worthington Pump and Machinery Corporation is a long time, well established pump company which manufactures both turbine and oentrifugal pumps. Their equipment has always given us satisfactory service. I therefore recommend pumps be purchased from them, and estimate has been prepared on this basis. Due to the fact prices of equipment are apt to increase any day, I have included 1 5 # contingency on cost of the pumps and motors. All the companies quoted delivery after receipt of order, as follows: Turbine pumps and motors, 2 to 3 weeks Centrifugal motors 3 to 5 months Also attached is complete data showing results of our pumping tests. Net increase in flow as a result of installing pumps on the flowing wells is, as follows:
