La b Vegas - Ho t ember 10, 19**® ¥ 23-1-9 Hr. ¥b . Reinhardt: Bnder UPRR Work Order 979®# a inch oast iron main was constructed la 1931 to serve a portion of the Union Pacific Industrial Tract paralelling South Main Street and this line, which terminates at G&rces Street, was subsequently transferred to LVL&W Co. accounts* The industries south of G a m e s Street are inadequately served by small off-line connections including privately owned Lots A to S, inclusive, fronting of South Main Street. We have 5 of these small service lines extending underneath Main Street from the 6-inch and 8-inch water main on the east side of Main Street and each time a leak develops we have considerable difficulty in controlling it. Xn order to eliminate these troublesome connections across Main Street and also to serve the Industrial Tract, X recommend that we extend the existing h-inoh cast Iron line southerly to Lot S, as shown In red on the attached print* As soon as construction of the Charleston Boulevard underpass is completed, which will be in 6 or 8 months, we can then determine how to oonnscit it at the south end for a circulating system. X also attach estimate of cost in the amount of $$Z2§ and list of present services and potential future service from this line. Xf you concur, X suggest the item be Included in the 19^9 Budget. A. X.
