COUNTY TREASURER C L A R K COUNTY, N E V A D A ED. W. C L A R K LAS VEGAS, N E V AD A , D ec ^ 2 6 t h , 11 . Dear Miss o-eorge, Los Angeles, I have your letter .f the 22nd. You will appreciate my poistion when I explain the circumstances to yuu. In the first place there seems to have eiter been a mlstaKe in the amount sent you on one of the cards or you misread the amount. Then when you sent the acrd back for correction instead of looking up both of your assessments I only looked the one up. You see the two properties are in different districts and have to be assessed in the district they are located in in case there should be a difference in the rate of the sek® two districts. Now we have so many cards to take care of that then only system that we can follow* and K'-ep up with the worK is to pay attention to the cards We have several thousand letters to look over and cards to attend to and some of them no doubt do not receive the attention their senders think they should have because we have not the time to look after it. And some times we might do differently but we are not allowed the latitude to do as we mighB care to as the law has t be folllwed strictly or more serious damages might have to be met. I am sorry that the misunderstanding happened and would advise that other years you send in for the amount right after the firstof Nov. of each year whether I am in this office or not. Taxes are due after the first of Nov. of each year and delinquent after the first of Dec. of each jlfNfffi U ' H O UJ. JJCJU COUNTY TREASURER C L A R K CdxrsrTY, N E V ADA. ED. W.
