SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES & SALT LAKE RAILROAD COMPANY LAW DEPARTMENT Office of A. S. HALSTED, General Counsel F. R. McNAMEE, LEO A. McNAMEE, Water Stewart Burial Plot - Las Vegas Los Angeles, Cal., August 15th, 1913. Mr. Walter R. Bracken, Las Vegas, Nevada. Dear Sir:-- Replying t o yours of August 14th relative to the above matter, w i l l say, that this subject was before the Law Department about three years ago, and the reservation in the original Deed was construed to mean that we were to deliver to the tract of ground, known as the Burial Plot, four miners inches of water, or sufficient to irrigate the four acres. As this plot, or only a small portion thereof, is irrigated, it is only necessary for us to actually convey to the land 47.04 gallons per minute, as the California miners inch, as I figure i t , is 11.76 gallons per minute. The measuring device installed by Mr. Jessup some three years ago seemed to be amply sufficient to carry out the provision in the Deed, and we should, if possible, determine who it was that i n t e r f e r e d with the box. The amount of expense that w i l l be incurred in putting in second-hand pipe w i l l , in a l l probability, govern the matter, but this is something that will have to be determined by Mr. Nutt. For your information I am enclosing you an extract from the original deed made December 11th, 1912 by Helen J. Stewart, et al, to W. A. Clark, and since assigned to the Railroad, showing reser-vation of this water. Copy to MrF.. RH. .M cCN. amNueet t Very truly yours,
