McCoy Z-16-55 REZONING David Zenoff Z-17-55 PROPOSED ORDINANCE Electrical Amendment ORDINANCE NO. 647 Parking Lot Rate Posting PROPOSED ORDINANCE Liquor Amendment PROPOSED ORDINANCE Animal Amendment PROPOSED ORDINANCE Rezoning Consideration of the Board was given to the application of Rose Holding Corporation to rezone the rear one-half of Lot 9, Block 22, HFM&M from R-3 to C-2, approved by the Planning Commission. Public Hearing on this application was continued from June 1, 1955. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Rose Holding Corporation to rezone the rear one-half of Lot 9, Block 22, HFM&M from R-3 to C-2 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the Board considered the application of M. S. McCoy to rezone from R-E to C-1 that portion of the E½, SE¼, SE¼ of Section 32, T20S, R61E, lying north of Charleston Boulevard new alignment and west of new Tonopah State Highway containing O.59 acres (the NW intersection of Charleston Blvd. and Rancho Road), to erect a gasoline service station, denied by the Planning Commission. His Honor said that no appeals had been filed. Mr. McCoy said that he had not asked anyone to appear but that 50% of those persons residing outside of the 300 feet area were in favor of the rezoning. Commissioner Sharp moved that the recommendation of the Planning Commission be accepted and the application of M. S. McCoy to rezone from R-E to C-1 that portion of the E½, SE¼, SE¼ of Section 32, T20S, R61E, to erect a gasoline service station be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the Board considered the application of David Zenoff and Albert Goot to rezone from R-4 to C-1, Lots 12 and 13, Block 28, Clark's Las Vegas Townsite (East side of South 3rd between Bridger and Lewis) denied by the Planning Commission. Commissioner Sharp moved that the action of the Planning Commission be approved and that this application of David Zenoff and Albert Goot to rezone from R-4 to C-1 be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At the hour of 9:20 P.M. the meeting recessed. The meeting reconvened at 9:55 P.M. with all members present as of the opening session. Commissioner Sharp, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the electrical code stated that he had conferred with local electrical contractors and electrical engineers, and the concensus of opinion was that it was a fine ordinance with a few exceptions. Mr. De Villiers appeared before the Board at this time and discussion was held on various sections of the proposed amendment to the electrical code. Commissioners Sharp and Bunker decided that they would meet with a committee of electricians and the City Attorney to study the electrical amendment. Additional time was requested. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 36, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY PROVIDING REGULATIONS FOR PARKING LOTS; PROVIDING LICENSE FEES; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Sharp was read in full to the Board. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved that the above entitled Ordinance No. 647 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed liquor amendment, requested additional time before reporting. His Honor appointed Commissioner Fountain as a member of the committee for recommendation on the liquor amendment to replace Commissioner Jarrett. Commissioners Sharp and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the animal ordinance, requested additional time before reporting. At this time a proposed rezoning ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Sharp for recommendation. 6-15-55
