Los Angeles - August 20, 1954. Mr. E. E. Bennett ~ Los Angeles; Regarding your oral Inquiry concerning price of $1336.00 quoted by Rosooe Moss Company for time spent by Contractor In developing, testing and cleaning shop well at Las Vegas for first 24-hour period and $14.00 for each additional hour: Section 5 (c) on page 3 of Agreement NLD 2842: Well drilling Contractors use a different rig and crew for developing, testing and cleaning wells. They charge rental for this second rig, travel time both ways for the crews, gasoline, etc. They all oharge around $1300 to $1500 per well for first 24-hours on Jobs Which are long distances away. Seems high to me, but all the Contractors in this territory do the same thing. They move the drilling rig right off the Job to another WelJjjjt other location and bring in the second eve loping, testing and cleaning of well, installing welding flangejblinel flange, etc. The price of $14.00 per hour for each additional hour after first 24 hours excludes any travel time. The specifications call for circumferential welding of outside Joints of casing down to a depth of 200 feet below top of well* Roscoe Moss advised me that for this particular well In shop grounds they included the cost of circumferential welding in the price per foot. Specifications, etc., appear O.K. R, L. ADAMSON RLAIagb llllfg R I f O. Sep 24 1954 »yo4
