ESI Oct* 15, 1914# 1667 Mr. W« H* Bancroft, First Vice President, Salt Bake City, Utah* Dear Sir: Referring to Mr. IJutt's Joint favor of the 14th, I hand you herewith form 30, Los Angeles Division Ho.859, covering 60x100' addition to the Sutherland packing house at Riverside, to cost $6374.78, upon which they are to pay us &fo interest on the cost of the building #3805.18, and 10$ on the cost of machinery $2569.60, in addition to the ground, rental which I think is $35 a month. You will note we had 235 cars from these people last year, upon which our earnings were #26,OOP, and that they turned away at least 100 carloads account insufficient capacity. fhey state that with the addition they will he able to increase the shipments from five to six hundred carloads this year. While we are all trying to cut expenses as much as possible and not undertake any new work, it rather seems that our people are committed to this extension, and that the increased business will pay many times over the cost of the investment. I therefore recommend the approval of the form. As they want to get it ready for occupancy by January first, if you approve I suggest you wire your approval. Very truly yours, enc V
