Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. ATTEST: h APPROVED: City Clerk Mayor LAS VEGAS, NEVADA September 22, 1947 At a regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners held the 22nd day of September, 1947.Meeting called to order by His Honor Mayor E. W. Cragin at the hour of 2:00 p.m. with the following members present: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple, Acting City Manager Geo. 0. Treem, City Attorney, C. Norman Cornwall, and City Clerk, Helen Scott Reed. Absent: Commissioner Clark. MINUTES Commissioner Whipple moved that the minutes of September 5, and the Minutes of the special meetings of September 11th and 19th be approved by reference and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Cragin voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Comm. Clark. PAYROLL CLAIMS Commissioner Whipple moved that the payroll claims Nos. 1268 to 1273 inc., in the net sum of $22,085.61 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. SERVICE AND Commissioner Whipple moved that service and material warrants Nos. 1274 MATERIAL WARRANTS in the sum of $11,369.45 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Baskin and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. PLAY GROUP Commissioner Baskin moved that the request of Mrs. Kime to operate a play Mrs. Kime group for small children in the Huntridge district be referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. CLAIM-WM. L. Commissioner Baskin moved that the claim of Wm. L. Hoopes for $525.00 HOOPES covering lost skates be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. CLARK COUNTY At the request of the Board of County Commissioners Mayor Cragin appointed DAIRY COUNCIL Commissioner Reed Whipple to represent the City on the Clark County Dairy Council. GARBAGE ORDINANCE Commissioner Baskin moved that the City Attorney be directed to make an investigation of the present garbage ordinance and if found to be insufficient to prepare a new one for adoption. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN TERRITORY ADJOINING No. 339 - Annexation AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF TEE CITY OF LAS VEGAS TO BE Clem Malone property ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; ORDERING A PLAT SHOWING SAID TERRITORY TO BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY RECORDER OF THE COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO," was read to the Board by title and referred to the following committee for rec­ommendation at the next regular meeting: Commissioners Moore and Baskin. ORDINANCE #337 An ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE DETERMINATION OF THE CITY Adopted OF LAS VEGAS TO MAKE CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS BY INSTALLING COMPLETE STREET LIGHTING UNITS WITH PARKWAY CABLE AND STEEL STANDARDS ALONG CERTAIN STREETS AND PORTIONS OF STREETS IN SAID CITY PROVIDING THAT THE COST AND EXPENSES THEREOF SHALL BE PAID ENTIRELY BY SPECIAL ASSESSMENT UPON ALL THE LOTS INCLUDED WITHIN THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT HEREBY ESTABLISHED ACCORDING TO BENEFITS, EXCEPT WHERE BY THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS CERTAIN PORTIONS THEREOF ARE REQUIRED TO BE PAID FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AND OTHER MATTERS PERTAINING THERETO," was read to the Board for the second time. Thereafter, Commissioner Baskin moved that the foregoing ordinance be adopted on its second reading. Notion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Baskin, Moore, Whipple and His Honor voting Aye. Noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Clark. BOULDER DAM Commissioner Moore moved that the tentative map of the Boulder Dam HOMESITE ADDN. Homesite Addition Tract No. 5 be ap roved subject to the following conditions TRACT #5 as recommended by the Planning Commission: Tentative Map Approved CONDITIONS
