BOX 3399 TERMINAL ANNEX • • • LOS ANGELES 5 4 ,CALIFORNIA August 21, 1952 Las Vegas Land and Water Company I4.OI South Second Street Las Vegas, Nevada Attention: Mr. W. H. Johnson, Acting General Manager Your Service No, 790I4A Gentlemen: We have your letter of August 6, 1952, regarding the application of your new water rates to the water uses at our Store No. 280/B at 1300 E. Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada. We do not have a copy of your new Schedule of Rates and consequently cannot understand your application of these new rates to our store uses or the charges which you are proposing to make for our refrigeration and other uses. Also, we question whether in proposing the new charge of $99*50 per month you have taken into account that water used for cooling our commercial refrigeration units is recirculated through a cooling tower and that the water used in our air-cooling unit is recirculated through an evaporative condenser. We also wish to point out that water is not used in our commercial refrigeration units every month of the year because they are designed for air and water cooling. Also, our air-cooling equipment does not operate all months of the year. Before we can agree to this flat charge of $99.50 per month we are asking that you furnish the following: 1. A copy of each of your water rates applicable to water service delivered to our store from the beginning of that service to January 1, 1952. 2. A copy of each of your new water rates for commercial service effective as of January 1, 1952. 3* A copy of your water service rules and regulations applicable prior to January 1, 1952, and a copy of those applicable since that date. If these rules and regulations were approved by the Nevada Public Service Commission, kindly so indicate. I4.. Please also furnish any other information necessary to give us a full understanding of your authority for making the proposed new charge.
