PENDING Water Facilities, Las Vegas, Nevada 4 *0 ^ T R A C E ______________ ^ Los Angeles, Calif*, March 30,1923 File 626 Mr* R.L* Huntley, Omaha: Please refer to your letter of January 13 directing that study and consideration be given to increasing eater supply and storage at Las Vegas: Mr, Carey*s letter of March 26 reading as follows disposes of this "With the arrangement of the water facilities which are being installed, a supply tank for treated water placed near the depot w ill not be needed, as the engine stand pipes are directly connected to the treated water storage tank at the roundhouse with a 12* oast iron pipe line, end when they are put into service, a looeaotive can be watered in five or six minutes* "Since the well at the roundhouse has been put into service, there has not been any need of an increased water supply, as this well is producing nearly four tines the amount needed for our purposes, and the 16 laoh line from the springs Is more than ample for tbs water supply of the town and the Pacific Fruit Express Company*! ioing plant*" feature for the present at least: Asst,Chief Engineer AEB:LS e*e*» Mr* W*H*Comstook
