X X X X 3 S B 0 S X 3 B K My Dear Wells : . . 1 arrived here on Saturday and Sunday by invitation of Mr. Stubbs met the Traffic Officials and Attorneys of their allied lines and entered upon the consideration of a great many interrogates the Traffic Officials had prepared for the Attorneys bearing upon the new law. We spent Sunday, Monday and yesterday at this business and the interchange of views and discussions were very .valuable and inforaing. I am satisfied that we all came out of the matter with our ideas a good deal clearer than they were when we went into the meeting. So far as I am able to judge by the attirude of the officials who were present at the meeting, it is their determination to enter upon a strtck observance, not only og the new Inter-State Commerce Act, but the Daw as a whole. It transpired in the course of discussion that the railroad companies had in many instances been doing things which were contrary to the provisions of the Law, and they seem now disposed to change all that and endeavor in good faith to live up to the law requirements. A Committee of the leading Traffic Officials of the larger lines was chosen at a general meeting on Monday, and also a Committee of Attorneys, and the Traffic Officials* Committee are to formulate questions which they deem of importance relative to the observance of the Law and propound these questions to the Committee of Attorneys who are to answer them.
