S. Steel Hour June 6. Walter Barker and his wife will spend 5 days in the luxurious Sands Hotel, enjoying the sun and spir- ited living that typifies Las Vegas. In all, wholesale salesmen, by obtaining the signatures of their retail dealers, indicated that they actively supported Hardware Week \and showed their Hardware Week catalogs to more than 8,600 deal- I ers. m 24 categories of retailing honored for their outstanding presentation of manufacturers?╟╓ advertised brands to the public during 1955. ^ Winchester Pushes Time-Payment Plan ?√? Winches ter-Western Div. of Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp., which launched its Winchester Firearms Time Payment Plan a year ago, reports intensification of consumer promotion during 1956. According to J. T. Boone, sales manager, 41,000 retailers have signed up with the program since its inception. Winchester?╟╓s plan is a non-re- course program with Winchester taking all the credit risk. Retailers receive their money immediately from Winchester once they notify the company of a time-pay sale. Boone says Winchester is using the slogan, ?╟úShoot now?╟÷pay later?╟Ñ, to put the program across. Retailers interested in learning more about the plan should write Boone at New Haven, Conn. ?∙Σ Certificates of Recognition will be presented to 10 wholesalers who were credited by their retail customers with being ?╟úmost helpful?╟Ñ during the promotion of IRHA Hardware Week. The awards will be made at NRHA?╟╓s 57th annual Congress in Toronto next month. Salesmen, too, were honored . . . the most helpful salesman earning a trip to Toronto for him? self and his wife; the second-place salesman winning $300, and third-place man receiving $200.
