\ 1 gather from Mr. Bracken*• letter to Mr. Jeffere of May 20, 1942, copy of which wae cent to yon May 21, 1942, that undereollsetlons of approximately #700.00 per month graduated retroactively May, 1942, to December 1, 1941. If theae additional tales were taken into consideration for comparative purposes the percentages of increases would be correspondingly projected upward for the sonthe affected, fhere le alee enclosed copy o f memoranda showing revenue from water sales and number of service connections for eaoh of the souths of January to May, lnolusive, years 1940, 1941 and 1942, segregated according to each tract or subdivision. These memoranda reflect a steady Increase in revenues and connections from February to April, inclusive, for each of the years 1940, 1941 and 1942, and a decided increase in these in May, 1942, exclusive of the 106 connections claimed by the aocount&nte and accumulated water sales amounting to $636.65 to contractor for construction of A m y housing project near Lae Vegas. further Investigation on the ’ground discloses that a large proportion of the new population is spread to rooms in private homes, hotels, and auto courts, which faetc largely account for the disparity between the percentage of increase in population and that of water ealee and service connections. Gases were also developed where one-room houses or shaoks were constructed on promisee to serve families occupying houses of four rooms and less whloh did not result In increased water rates -8- and sales.
