I agree.September 10, 1968 Miss Flora Dungan 1705 Cochran Las Vegas, Nevada 89105 Dear Flora: I am writing this letter to express my disappointment over the fact that you were not able to "beat the machine" in Las Vegas. I certainly wish that I had been in a position to have been of some assistance to you; however, I am also sure that any contribution made by me would not have been very significant compared to the efforts of some of your close and loyal friends. I have enclosed an editorial which I clipped from the Carson City Appeal. I feel that it expresses the attitude of many Nevadans who have watched you from the sidelines. I know that many people have felt that you attempted to represent more than just Clark County residents but had the welfare of the entire state in mind on many occasions when you girded yourself for battle. I sincerely hope that this small defeat will not dampen your spirits as a leader for social reform. God knows that we need all we can get because there are damn few on the scene. Expressing my continued admiration and respect Sincerely, I remain.
