Mr. A. E. Stoddard - Omaha (2) Los Angeles 1-733^ cc: W. H. Hulsizer W. C • Perkins L. R. Maag bcc: V. W. Smith Recommendation far Las Vegas Land and Water Company authority to construct at company expense approximately 860 LF of 8 M cast iron water main and install pressure reducing valve in Oakey.Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, at an estimated cost of $6,583,00, chargeable to investment. Due to rapid expansion of home construction in area adjacent to Oskey Boulevard easterly of 15th Street, Las Vegas, Nevada, subsequent to the summer of 1953, it is imperative that the water main proposed herein be constructed at the earliest possible date since the existing water main serving this area is inadequate to serve this new development. Pressure reducing valve is required to prevent excessive pressures during periods of low draw-off easterly of 15th Street. Construction at Company expense is recommended since no application has been received from adjacent property owners for construction of this proposed water main, which will constitute the connecting link between water main at 15th Street and the new development easterly of Morning View Heights Subdivision and will also serve to increase pressure and water available to existing homes as well as to new development east of 15th Street. Recommended water main should be constructed as quickly as possible in advance of hot summer weather in order to avoid public criticism. Approval of the Las Vegas Valley Water District under provisions of Section 13, paragraph (b) of Agreement MCHL.D« 113^2 dated June 1, 1953, has been obtained, Mr. Bennett sees no legal objection. A. F, E. data is attached to Mr. Perkins* copy. Mr. V. W. Smith: ¥m« Reinhardt Two copies of the estimate are attached.
