Description

The water shortage was causing concern for the railroad because low water levels caused the well to spew sand which was very bad for the trains. A new well was needed to increase supply of water.

Losangeles 1040Am June 5 1934 W R Bracken Las vegas Following message from Mr Coffey.Quote with advent of hot weather here Water supply for springs is running short causing Engine delays.we are now using well at roundhouse.Well has never been properly cleaned out and makes lot of Sand that is going to cause us injector trouble.new artesian well at springs brought in by Lasvegas Land And Water Co not yet cut into spring line.believe if this well cut into line would have ample Water supply without having to use well at Roundhouse end quote.Will you please advise when new well will be cut into pipe line.W-440 N A Williams 1053Am indicate by X in proper line the class of service required.
