    No further business appearing before the Board on motion of Commissioner Gilbert and seconded by Commissioner Corradetti, it was moved and carried that this meeting adjourn. Vote Commissioners, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor they Mayor voting aye, Noes None. Absent Commissioner Ronnow. There upon said meeting adjourned. A Special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada is hereby called to be held in the Board of Commissioners Room in the City Clerk's Office, in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, Wednesday November 20, 1940 at the hour of eleven fifteen o'clock A.M. to consider and act upon the following business: To Consider and Act upon certain papers pertaining to the application of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada to the Works Progress Administration, to acquire the Air Port now used and owned by the Western Air Express Corporation. John L. Russell Mayor of the City of Las Vegas* NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING. TO - JOHN L. RUSSELL, MAYOR, AND TO C.V.T. GILBERT, HERB KRAUSE, A. CORRADETTI AND JOE S. RONNOW, COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS* YOU AND EACH OF YOU WILL PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: That pursuant to a call this day issued by the Mayor of the City of Las Vegas, A Special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, will be held in the Board of Commissioners Room in the City Clerk's Office Wednesday the 20th, day of November 1940 at the hour of eleven fifteen o'clock A.M. to consider and act upon the following: To consider and act upon certain papers pertaining to the application of the City of Las Vegas. Nevada to the Works Progress Administration, to acquire the Air Port now used and owned by the Western Air Express Corporation VIOLA BURNS - City Clerk By LE ROY WHIPPLE, Deputy. ACCEPTANCE OF SERVICE. We, the undersigned Mayor and Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, hereby admit due service of the foregoing notice of a Special Meeting. John L. Russell - Mayor. C.V.T.Gilbert,- Commissioner. Herb Krause - Commissioner. A. Corradetti - Commissioner. Joe s. Ronnow - Commissioner Absent Commissioner Joe S. Ronnow. T he business to be considered at this time, was the signing and acceptance of proposal as stated by the Works Progress Administration covering the grant, by the Works Progress Administration and the sponsorship by the City in acquiring and developing of the air port now used and operated by the Western Air Express Corporation. Mr. C.J.Mackey representing the local W.P.A. appeared before the board with the necessary papers to be acted upon by the Board in accepting such grant from the W.P.A. in getting the project going. After some discussion on the matter and going over the plans as proposed by the C.A.A. it was decided to contact Mr. Ayers of the C.A. by phone in Los Angeles before taking final action in the matter at this time. Thereupon motion was made by Commissioner Gilbert and Seconded by Commissioner Corradetti to recess the meeting until one o'clock PM. at which time the discussion would be re­sumed. Vote being Commissioners, Gilbert, Krause & Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor Voting Aye, Noes None. The meeting recessed until one o'clock P.M. At one o'clock P.M. the Mayor and Commissioners reassembled to continue the meeting as was re­cessed at twelve o'clock P.M. All being present as heretofore mentioned. Mr. Ayers of the Civil Aeronautics Authority having been contacted by phone regarding the programme outlined by the Works Progress Administration and giving as his opinion that the Board would be in order to execute and sign the proposal as submitted by the W.P.A. therefore upon motion by Commissioner Gilbert and Seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized and empowered to sign the papers covering the project being numbered 50043 a copy of which is on file with the City Clerk. Vote being Commissioners, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting Aye, Noes None. No further business appearing before the board at this time, on motion of Commissioner Gilbert and Seconded by Commissioner Corradetti, it was moved and carried that this meeting adjourn. Vote Commissioners, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor Voting Aye, Noes, None.
