RIGAL : Le LIDO. La direction en fut confiee a Pierre LOUIS-GUERIN. D'importants amenagements en firent le temple de la revue a grand spectacle. Le LIDO devint rapidement "le plus celebre cabaret du monde". La beaute des danseuses, le luxe des costumes, la classe des attractions, la rapidite du rythme s'y trouvent a leur plus haut degre. Les spectacles du LIDO sont reputes dans le monde entier. Un critique n'a-t-il pas ecrit : * Les etrangers et les provin- ciaux qui viennent a Paris vont d'abord voir la Tour Eiffel et la revue du LIDO, lis ont Vassurance de voir le plus beau spectacle de cabaret du monde". A group headed by Joseph and Louis CLERICO, opened in the heart of the Champs-Elysees a luxurious establishment : The LIDO. The management was put into the hands of Pierre LO UIS-G UERIN. Considerable remodeling transformed it into a glittering palace of luxurious revues, and the LIDO rapidely became "the mos celebrated cabaret in the world". The beauty of the dancers, the richness and colour of their costums, the high quality of their attractions, the rapidity of their tempo reach its highest degree. The fame of the LIDO shows has spread far and wide. Recently a critic wrote : " Both the foreigners and the French, when coming to Paris, first visit the Eiffel Tower and the LIDO. They are assured of seeing the most beautiful night club revue in the entire world." 1977 Le LIDO presente son spectacle dans une nouvelle salle des Champs-Elysees : Le Cabaret NORMANDIE. Cet etablissement cree par une importante entreprise de spectacles (SEGSMHI) congu et admirablement decore par les architectes BARTOCCINI et VECCIA, est le plus beau et aussi le plus luxueux cabaret d'Europe, pour ne pas dire du Monde. A l'heure du spectacle, le plancher de la salle s'enfonce dans le sol avec les spectateurs, degageant ainsi la piste de danse qui devient la scene. Le Cabaret NORMANDIE possede une imbrication de passerelles escamotables, piste de glace, piscine, elevateurs incomparables. Grace a cette gigantesque machinerie, la revue du LIDO devient un spectacle en cinemascope et technicolor fabuleux. The LIDO presents its show in a new hall on the Champs- Elysees : The Cabaret NORMANDIE. This establishment born by an important show business group (SEGSMHI) conceived and beautifully decorated by the architects BARTOCCINI and VECCIA, is the largest and also the most luxurious night club in Europe, if not in the world. As the show starts, the floor gos down with all the spectators leaving the dance floor which becomes an elevated stage. The Cabaret NORMANDIE possesses a network of movable platforms, ice floor, swimming pool, elevators, comparable to nowhere. Thanks to the gigantic machinery the LIDO revue has become a show in fabulous technicolor cinemascope.
