July 17, 1914 File 137-8 Referring again to our conversation regarding settlement of wharfage charges in connection with express matter during the time the American Express operated over the P acific Navigation Company: I now enclose a le tte r from the Pacific Navigation Company dated June 8th. As I advised in my le tte r of June 10th, which is returned herewith, ( with le tte r from the American Express Company dated June 5th), we are carrying on our books against the Pacific Navigation Company an amount of |134.33. I f i t is desired that we shall continue to trace these two concerns for payment of the b i l l , it seems to me we should make reply to their letters and not merely ask them for the money.
