VENDORS SELLING EVERYTHING FROM GINGERBREAD, CANDY ROOSTERS, TEA AND NUTS, TO RIBBONS AND TAMBORINES WALK AMONGST THE CROWDS WHO ARE CONSTANTLY ENTERTAINED BY BUFFONS, JUGGLERS AND DANCING BEARS. THE GROUND RESOUNDS WITH DANCING WHILE THE AIR EXPLODES WITH MUSIC AND LAUGHTER. GYPIES WITH THEIR MAGICIANS AND FORTUNETELLERS OFTEN CHOOSE THIS OCCASION TO RENDEZVOUS. THE MERRIMENT WILL GROW TO A FEVER PITCH, WHEN SUDDENLY ON THE EVE OF THE 8TH DAY, AS THE CHURCH BELLS TOLL 6 O'CLOCK, LIKE CINDERELLA'S BALL IT WILL ALLCOME TO AN END.
