Bennett Referring to your letter August 2, file 80-5 regarding water consumption by the resort hotels on South Fifth Street. the meter readings were telephoned in from El Rancho Hotel, and he stated their July consumption was just under 9.000*000 gallons for the m onth and this is typical of the other four hotels. They have three wells, two of which they pump and hold the other as a standby for emergency. on -which we have shown the number of rooms and extended the'rates based on our current schedule on which you will note the five hotels would produce $768.75 P er month. I do not want to agitate the gamblers by rating their property on the ground but believe if we did so and charged them for extra frontage, stores, quarters for the help, etc., this could be raised to about $1,000 per month 0$ $12,000 a year.
