Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ANY PERSON, FIRM, ASSOCIATION OR Smoking CORPORATION OWNING, MANAGING, OR BEING IN CONTROL OF ANY AUDITORIUM, THEATRE, OR MOTION PICTURE THEATRE, FROM ALLOWING SMOKING WITHIN SUCH BUILDING; PROHIBITING ANY PERSON FROM SMOKING WITHIN SAID BUILDING; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLA- TION THEREOF AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple for recommendation. PROPOSED ORDINANCES An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REPEAL IN CERTAIN PARTICULARS Solicitors & Canvassers ORDINANCE NO. 369, ALSO DESIGNATED AS CHAPTER 30, SECTION 1 THROUGH. 13, CODE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, ENTITLED: “AN ORDINANCE LICENSING, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATION AND REVENUE, SOLICITORS AND CANVASSERS, AS HEREIN DEFINED, IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; FIXING THE FEES THEREFOR AND OTHER CHARGES IN CONNEC­TION THEREWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS THEREOF; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE- WITH; AND OTHER MATTER PROPERLY RELATING THERETO"; BY REDUCING THE INVESTIGATION FEE; BY. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV, OF ORDINANCE NO. 378 Rezoning ALSO REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett for recommendation. STREET PLAN - Harrison Commissioner Whipple moved the Planning Commission be authorized to make a title Acres search of the ownership of Harrison Acres and submit a recommended street plan in this area. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PAWNSHOP APPLICATIONS Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Glen Tondevold, Square Deal Loan, Renewals 118 North 1st Street for renewal of his pawnshop license be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. TAXI APPLICATIONS Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Lee Speirs, Boulder Taxi Co., for Renewals renewal of 3 taxicabs and Joseph Michel, Checker Cab Co. for renewal of 1 taxicab for the first quarter of 1952 be approved. Motion seconded by. Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett presented a letter from the Las Vegas Taxicab Association on the number of cabs permitted on the streets at one time. This letter was re­ferred to the City Attorney for report on the legality of such a limitation. RESOLUTION - Assessment Commissioner Bunker introduced and moved the adoption of the following resolution: District No. 100-2 Westside RESOLUTION WHEREAS, certain streets and portions of streets in the City of Las Vegas are with- out adequate street improvement, and WHEREAS, numerous requests have been made that these streets be improved, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners are desirous that the following streets and portions of streets in the City of Las Vegas be improved, to-wit:
