4 S LAS VEGAS LAND AND WATER COMPANY Las Vegas, Nevada, February 33, 1925. In re - Capping Artesian W ell. Mr. F. H. Knickerbocker, Genl. Mgr. U. P. System, .Los Angeles, Cal. Dear S ir: Acknowledging receipt o f your le tte r o f February the 20th in reference to capping o f artesian w ell, and am indeed glad that this matter w ill be attended to at once, as we are s t i l l receiving many complaints concerning the abundant waste o f waters from this w e ll. In th is connection I would lik e to c a ll your attention to the fact that it is almost a year since we completed the construction o f a temporary settlin g basin which was supposed to be used fo r only a short time or u n til we could construct the permanent basin and a 24" lin e to the second intake bow. This, in my opinion, should be attended to at the e a rlie st possible moment and before the spring and summer months arrive, during which time there is always complaint concerning the quality of our domestic water system. I f I remember rig h tly the estimated cost of this work was to be included in the 1935 Budget and tie most lo g ic a l time to do this work would be at the same time we are capping the w e ll. Yours truly, (Signed) Walter R. Bracken. MO Vice-President & Agent. co-O.H.lann S.J.Osborne
