    A letter was read from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers requesting the the adoption of a certain proposed electrical ordinance heretofore submitted to the Board. Commissioner Rubidoux made a motion that said proposed electrical ordinance be read at the next regular meeting of the Board. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Smith, Tinch, Rubidoux and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. A petition signed by certain property owners requesting the city engineer to survey a certain site of land designated as the Fourteenth Street Addition, was read at this time. Commissioner Rubidoux made a motion that the city engineer be allowed to hire suitable help to take care of the present emergency. Motion died for lack of a second. A letter was read from J. R. Lewis and Edwin J. Miller regarding the vacating by the city of the restricted district. His Honor stated that the matter would be taken up at a recessed regular meeting to be held on the 10th day of October, 1941. Bids for stove oil from the following Companies were opened at this time. Western Heating and Ventilating Company, Mohawk Service, Signal Oil, National Ice Company, Shell Oil and Ira J. Earl, Las Vegas Fuel and Supply. Bids on copper wire from McQuay Supply Co., and Standard Wholesale Supply Company were opened at this time. Commissioner Tinch made a motion that the bid of the McQuay Supply company in the sum of $294.20 be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Smith, Tinch, Rubidoux and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Bids on a lawn mower for the golf course from the Salt Lake Hardware Co., at Salt Lake, Pacific Toro Co., at Los Angeles, and the Standard Wholesale Company, were opened at this time. Commissioner Rubidoux made a motion that said bids be tabled until the next regular meeting pending the recommendation of Mr. Crossan, Golf Pro. Motion seconded by Commissioner Tinch and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Smith, Tinch, Rubidoux and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Tinch made a motion that the application of Kroloff Brothers for permission to have the license for the Kennel Club issued in the name of the 8 Ball Bar instead of the Kennel Club as heretofore requested by granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Smith and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Smith, Tinch, Rubidoux and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Smith made a motion that the following slot machine and gaming licenses be issued. Motion seconded by Commissioner Rubidoux and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Smith, Tinch, Rubidoux and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none. Commissioner Smith made a motion that the following slot machine licenses be issued. Motion seconded by Commissioner Rubidoux and carried by the following vote. Commissioners Smith, Tinch, Rubidoux and His Honor voting aye. Noes, none.
