LOS ANGELES, February 3, 1942 Mr. W. H. Guild: Zn connection with your proposed speech in Las Vegas, I thought you might be able to work into it oer tain data which has been accumulated by Mr. Sexton, Chairman of the Publio Service Commission of Nevada, and taken from the annual reports of the Nevada Public Service Commission or the annual report of the State Controller of the State of California. The most pertinent part of this information relates, first, to the daily consumption in gallons per individual in certain cities and the number of gallons delivered per $1.00 of revenue. This latter figure is a mathematical calculation based on the number of gallons used in the respective oitles and the total receipts from the respective water companies. VIth respect to Nevada it was Impossible to secure information concerning certain of the cities, but we have the daily consumption in gallons per individual for Lovelook Fallon Wlnnemuooa Las Vegas * Reno The latter is possibly high due to the fact that no meters are permitted and they have an unlimited supply from streams, as well as wells. Considering the total gallons used during the year and the total revenue of the water companies operat lng the system, we find the number of gallons per |1.00 for Lovelo ck 3,624 Fallon 6,553 Elko 3,333 Carson City 6,77? Vlnnemucca 5,091 Las Vegas 20,355 Reno 14,294 (lnoludes Sparks) gallons gallons gallons gallons gallons gallons gallons 133 gallons 200 gallons 183 gallons 396 gallons 469 gallons
