Whereas, said bonds as so prepared with the coupons thereon, with the necessary variations as to the numbers and maturities, are in the following form, respectively, to-wit: (Form of Bond) UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STATE OF NEVADA CITY OF LAS VEGAS COUNTY OF CLARK No. 1 $1,000.00 LAS VEGAS 1937 IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 3 BOND KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That the City of Las Vegas, a Municipal Corporation, existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Nevada, for value received, acknowledges itself indebted to, and hereby binds itself and promises to pay to the bearer, ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) in current legal tender of the United States of America, at the office of the City Treasurer of said City, in the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, on the 1st day of January, 1938, with interest thereon from date hereof at the rate of seven percent (7%) per annum until paid; said interest payable annually on the 1st day of January of each year hereafter, during the term of this bond, upon the presentation and surrender of the proper coupons as they severally become due and payable, both principal and interest payable in current legal tender of the United States of America at the office of the City Treasurer in the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, State of Nevada. This bond is one of a series of twenty bonds in denominations as follows: Ten (10) bonds of the denomination of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) each, payable in ten (10) annual, equal installments commencing on the 1st day of January, 1938, and one (1) bond in the sum of Six Hundred Fifty-four Dollars Fifty-five Cents ($654.55) payable on the 1st day of January, 1938, and nine (9) bonds in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) each, one of which is payable on the 1st day of January, 1939, and one additional bond payable on the 1st day of January of each and every year thereafter until each and every bond in the denomination of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) shall have been paid. All of which bonds are authorized by virtue of the provision of that certain act of the Legislature of the State of Nevada entitled "An Act to authorize municipalities to issue bonds for the purpose of paying the cost of municipal improvements for which special assessments are levied", approved March 13, 1909, as amended by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Nevada, entitled, "An Act to amend Sections one and two of an Act entitled, 'An Act to authorize municipalities to issue bonds for the purpose of paying the cost of municipal improvements for which special assessments are levied', approved March 13, 1909, and other matters relating thereto.", approved March 13, 1913, and of City Ordinance No. 221 approved January 4, 1937, City Ordinance No. 222 approved January 4, 1937, and City Ordinance No. 223 approved May 6, 1937, and of the proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, State of Nevada had and taken under and by virtue of the provisions of the said acts of the Legislature of the State of Nevada and the said Ordinances and the City Charter of the City of Las Vegas. It is hereby certified that all of the things and conditions required to be done precedent to and in the issuance of this bond have been done, happened and performed as required by law and in the event that the fund created by special assessment as in said Ordinances Nos. 221, 222, and 223 of the City of Las Vegas contained shall be insufficient to pay this bond in full as the same becomes due, together with interest thereon, the deficiency shall be paid by the City of Las Vegas out of its general fund and the City of Las Vegas thus binds itself. This bond shall be known as "LAS VEGAS 1937 IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 3 BOND" and shall be exempt from taxation by the City of Las Vegas. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the City of Las Vegas has by proper Resolution of its board of City Commissioners caused its corporate seal to be hereunto affixed and this bond to be signed by its Mayor and the City Clerk and countersigned by its City Assessor and the coupons hereunto attached to be authenticated by the signature of the City Assessor, in the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, this 1st day of January, A.
