Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved the recommendation of the City Manager be accepted and the bid on Bid No. 54.13 he awarded to C. D. Roeder Equipment Co. in the amount of $8,430.00 for the motor sweeper for the Street Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved the recommendation of the City Manager be accepted and the bid on Bid No. 54.14, four Ton Pickup Trucks, be awarded to A. C. Mr. Jarrett stated that he wrote the insurance on this property. Commissioner Whipple moved that the petition for the vacation of a portion of North 9th Street lying between Stewart and Mesquite Streets be referred to the planning Commission for study and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Mr. Carrigan, representing the Bonanza Airlines, appeared before the Board at this time. Mr. Carrigan stated that the Examiner for the CAB had denied the request of Bonanza Airlines for extension and deletion of certain service. This is in reference to the Bonanza Airlines case before the Civil Aeronautics Board #5773 etal. Discussion was held with the Board and Mr. Carrigan requested that the City file a letter of exception of this decision at their earliest possible convenience; further, that the requested brief be submitted not later than June 14, 1954. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the request of Bonanza Airlines be approved and the City Attorney be authorized to file the required protest on behalf of the City of Las Vegas. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes none. At this time Commissioners Bunker and Sharp members of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Electrical Code Ordinance reported favorably. Thereafter an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO SAFEGUARD LIFE AND PROPERTY BY REGULATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF ELECTRIC WIRING, DEVICES, APPLIANCES, AND EQUIPMENT; CREATING THE OFFICE OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND PRESCRIBING HIS AUTHORITY AND DUTIES; REQUIRING THAT NO ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHOUT FIRST SECURING A PERMIT THEREFOR; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 1953 NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE; CREATING A BOARD OF OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS; PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF PERSONS, FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR EMPLOYING ELECTRICIANS TO OBTAIN ELECTRICAL WORK: MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO
