Briefly, the facts are as follows* When the contractor for the State Highway Department tors out the water line entering South Hialn street, Hr* Ahlswede phoned »e and ashed what arrangements would be made to serve his building on the west aide of the street* X advised him the 2* line would be permitted to remain in place and we would connect to It* This we did* However, in my abeenoe, he conferred with Messrs* Doyle and Bell and agreed to pay for the 2* line across the street, which he did/ Hr* Ahlswede subsequently called at the office end after listening to the statements of all concerned, X advised his that X felt the Water Company should not pay any portion of the plumbers blll| but, If he felt he was not receiving fair treatment from me, X would be willing to submit the matter to the Glalm Department* This was done and X attach hereto copy of cry letter September 20 to the Olaln Agent and Mr* Cox' a reply October 18.
