San Pedro, Office of A. S. HALSTED, General Gounsel F. R. McNAMEE, General Attorney LEO A. McNAMEE, Assistant Attorney Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad Company 1 LAW DEPARTMENT Lob Angeles, Cal*, August 27th, 1913* Mr. Walter R. Bracken, Las Vegas, Rev. Bear Sir:-- Mr* Peter Buol was in to-day and he advised me that his Company had struck a flow of 100 miners inches of water the night "before last on its land situate about two miles North of Las Vegas Spring. _He, also stated that he intended to drive another well on land belonging to his Company, situate near the main Las Vegas Spring As our land does not extend any great distance West, North, or South of the Las Vegas Spring, it is just possible that a well driven on - adjacent lands might diminish the flow of the Spring and result in litigation in protecting our water rights. Mr. Buol took occasion to suggest that it might be well for us to consider purchasing some of the land contiguous to ours on the West, as a protection to our water rights now existing in that locality. What information have you on buols recent strike of artesian water? Copy to H. C. Nutt. Copy to P. A. Waters
