    tions to the Board of City Commissioners at a recessed regular meeting, and WHEREAS, the Board of City Commissioners accepted the report and recommendations of the said comp- mittee, and deem it to be in the public interest that the aforesaid zone change be granted, NOW THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the following described property be rezoned from an R-E (Residence Estates) to and R-2 (Two-family residence) Zone, to-wit: A portion of the NE¼ of the SE¼ of Section 28, Township 20 South Range 61 East, M.D.B.&M., described by metes and bounds as follows: Commencing at a point in the North line of said SE¼ Section 28, South 89° 38' East 1363 feet from the Northwest corner of said Southeast Quarter (SE¼), also being the Northeast corner of that parcel of land conveyed by A.A. Hinman and Lola Hinman, his wife, to Jack Weisberger by deed dated April 3, 1945, and recorded in Book 38 of Deeds, page 130, Clark County, Nevada, records; thence south 1° 00' West 630.ll feet along the East line of said conveyed parcel and its Southerly prolongation thereof to a point in the North line of that parcel of land converted by First State Bank of Las Vegas, Nevada, to J.A. Haggard and Lucile M. Haggard, his wife, by deed dated November 21, 1928, and recorded in Book 15 of Deeds, pages 408 and 409; thence North 89° 16' East 1322.46 feet along North line of last mentioned conveyed parcel and continuing along the North line of that parcel conveyed by Nellie Burdette to John R. Williams by deed dated November 1, 1929, and recorded in Book 15 of Deeds, pages 554-555 to a point in the East line of said SE¼ of Section 28, which is 8.90 feet west of the Northwest corner of Block 8 of the Original Las Vegas Townsite on the South property line of McWilliams Avenue; thence North 2° 56' East 611.25 feet along the East line of said SE¼ Section 28 to the Northeast corner thereof, which is the Northwest corner of the Original Las Vegas Townsite and the Southwest corner of H.F.M. & M., Addition and 4.25 feet North of the centerline of Washington Avenue; thence North 89° 38* West 1342.55 feet along the North line of said SE¼ Section 28 to the point of beginning. SAVING AND EXCEPTING therefrom all County Roads and Highways. Section 2. That all ordinances or resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, are hereby repealed. This repealer shall not be construed to revive any ordinance, nor resolution, or part thereof, heretofore repealed. Section 3. That by reason of the fact that public housing of the City of Las Vegas is inadequate to meet the present and future need of the City and its inhabitants and that it is necessary immediately to provide suitable areas for the construction of public housing, therefore, it is hereby declared that an em­ergency exists, and that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety. Section 4. This Ordinance is declared and passed as an emergency ordinance, and shall take ef­fect immediately after its passage and publication. Section 5. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this Emergency Ordinance No. 457 to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately fol­lowing its final reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
