Schellack, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Foreman of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW JOURNAL, a daily newspaper, of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached was continuously published in said newspaper for a period of two (2) insertions from December 22, 1952 to December 29, 1952, inclusive, being the issues of said news­paper for the following dates, to-wit: December 22, 29, 1952 That said newspaper was regularly issued and circulated on each of the dates above named. County, Nevada ORDINANCE NO. 5l5 AN ORDINANCE TO CONSOLIDATE INSPECTION PROCEDURE WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; CONSOLIDATING THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF US VEGAS; PROVIDING FOR THE QUALIFICATIONS OF INSPECTORS IN SAID DEPARTMENT; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO;AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE­WITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other ordinances or parts of ordinances of the City of Las Vegas, there shall be but one inspection department for the construction industry to be known as the Building Inspection Department of the City of Las Vegas. SECTION 2. The head of said department shall be called the Building Inspector of the City of Las Vegas, and the inspection officers under the Building Inspector shall each be called an Assistant Building Inspector. SECTION 3. There shall be at least one Assistant Building Inspector to be known as the Chief Plumbing Inspector especially qualified in Plumbing installations; at least one Assistant Building Inspector to be known as the Chief Electrical Inspector especially qualified in electrical installations; and at least one Assistant Building Inspector especially qualified in general building construction; provided, however, that each Assistant Building Inspector shall be required to complete and pass a civil service examination in accordance with the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the City of Las Vegas, qualifying him to make the appropriate type of inspection required by the plumbing, building, or electrical ordinances of the city. SECTION 4. Each Assistant Building Inspector upon qualifying as provided in Section 3, shall be authorized to make inspections in his qualified trade, of the kind and in the manner provided by the plumb­ing, building, or electrical ordinances of the city. SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication as in the next section provided, and final passage. SECTION 7. The City Clerk and the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this Ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Sun, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. s/ C.
