On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that a taxi license be granted A.L. Riddle. Said application being made in writing to the Board as is required by ordinance. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. A letter from the V.F.W. Post No. 1753 asking permission to use the War Memorial Building the night of August 24th, 1940 was read to the Board. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the V.F.W. Post No. 1753 be granted permission to use the War Memorial Building the night of August 24th, 1940 to house the Drum Corp of the State of Iowa. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that A.L. Drew, City Electrical inspector be allowed $50.00 toward traveling expenses to attend a meeting of the Association of Electrical Inspectors. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Ronnow it was moved and carried that Chief of Police Frank Wait be allowed the sum of $50.00 traveling expense to Reno to attend a meeting of the Pacific Coast International Association of Law Enforcement Officials to be held August 27-28- and 29, 1940. Vote Commissioners Ronnow Krause and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Commissioner Corradetti passing his vote. An Ordinance entitled, "An Ordinance to amend Section 18 (as amended) of Ordinance No. 203 of the City of Las Vegas, entitled: "An Ordinance regulating the distribution and control of intoxicating and alcoholic liquors and beverages, regulating places where and under what conditions said intoxicating and alcoholic liquors and beverages may be kept sold, given away or otherwise distributed; providing for permits and licenses; providing penalties for the violation of this ordinance and repealing all ordinances ar parts of ordinances in conflict therewith," was read to the Board for a first time and adopted by the following vote, Commissioners Ronnow and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Commissioner Corradetti voting no, Commissioner Krause passing his vote, Absent commissioner Gilbert. This ordinance to be known as Ordinance No. 255 of the City of Las Vegas, and the Clerk was directed to have same published in the Las Vegas Age a weekly newspaper published in Las Vegas, once each week for two consecutive weeks. Mayor Russell appointed Commissioners Ronnow and Corradetti as a committee from the Board of City Commissioners to met with the Air Port Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. Mills Armstrong appeared before the Board and protested radio interference at his residence at 2nd & Bridger Streets. Mayor Russell informed Mr. Armstrong that he would take the matter up with Commissioner Gilbert, Commissioner of Water, Sewer and Light. he adopting of an amended budget was discussed at this time and on motion of Commissioner Corradetti seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the Board of Commissioners adopt the form of budget as same was presented to the Board in the following form: CITY BUDGETS Page 1.
