    FIRE HYDRANTS City Manager Kennedy requested approval of Purchase Requisition #4822 for 50 - A-24009 Purchase Requisition Improved Fire Hydrants, color yellow, three foot (3') bury, conforming to Las Vegas City Specifications at an estimated cost of $130 each; total, $6,500, to the Mueller Company, 2801 Approved E. 12th Street, Los Angeles 23, California. Mr. Kennedy explained that the City's existing stock is being expended quite rapidly and that this requisition will be required inasmuch as approximately 6 weeks is required for delivery. Many existing approved subdivisions will require more hydrants than in stock at the present time. Commissioner Sharp moved that Purchase Requisition #4822 for 50-A-24009 Improved Fire Hydrants, color yellow, at an estimated cost of $130 each; total, $6,500 to the Mueller Company, 2801 E. 12th Street, Los Angeles 23, California, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. HARRIS AVENUE TRUNK City Manager Kennedy requested approval of Purchase Requisition #4996 for Harris Avenue Trunk SEWER Sewer to the George E. Miller Construction Co., 2260 N. Main, North Las Vegas, in the amount Purchase Requisition of $6364, to furnish labor, materials and equipment for installation of a portion of Harris Avenue Trunk Line. Approved Commissioner Sharp moved that Purchase Requisition #4996 to George E. Miller Construction Co., 2260 N. Main, North Las Vegas, in the amount of $6364 to furnish labor, materials and equipment for installation of a portion of Harris Avenue Trunk line be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the warrant sheet and the Director of Finance and City Treasurer authorized to issue the warrant. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. TOWN TAVERN - LICENSE City Manager Kennedy requested that the Liquor and Gaming Licenses of Earl Turman et al, SUSPENSION doing business as the Town Tavern, 600 Jackson Street be suspended based on police investigation and report. Show Cause Order Commissioner Whipple moved that the Liquor and Gaming Licenses of Earl Turman et al, doing business as the Town Tavern, 600 Jackson Street, be suspended effective immediately and licensees ordered to appear before the Board of City Commissioners at their next regular meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m., May 6, 1959, to show cause, if any they have, why their liquor and gaming licenses should not be revoked. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. GROOVE CAFE City Manager Kennedy requested that the Restaurant Beverage License of Florence Elmore, License Suspension doing business as the Groove Cafe, 416 W. Bonanza, be suspended based on Police investigation and report. Show Cause Order Commissioner Sharp moved that the Restaurant Beverage License of Florence Elmore, doing business as the Groove Cafe, 416 W. Bonanza be suspended effective immediately and licensee ordered to appear before the Board of City Commissioners at their next regular meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m., May 6, 1959, to show cause, if any she has, why her Restaurant Beverage License should not be revoked. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. CHILI POT City Manager Kennedy requested that the Restaurant Beverage License of Florence Elmore, doing License Suspension business as the Chili Pot, 1329 N "E" Street, be suspended based on police investigation and report. Show Cause Order Commissioner Sharp moved that the Restaurant Beverage License of Florence Elmore, doing business as the Chili Pot, 1329 N. "E" Street, be suspended effective immediately and licensee ordered to appear before the Board of City Commissioners at their next regular meeting to be held 7:30 p.m. May 6, 1959, to show cause, if any she has, why her Restaurant Beverage License should not be revoked. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Additional time was requested for the proposed Building Code ordinance Amendment which was Building Code Amendment introduced and read by title at the regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners held February 18, 1959; and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Sharp, Committee for Continued Recommendation. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Additional time was requested for the proposed Child Welfare Ordinance Amendment which was Child Welfare Amendment introduced and read by title at the regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners held March 4, 1959, and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Whipple, Committee for Recommendation. Continued ORDINANCE. NO. 792 An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO AS Rezoning Ordinance SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP (Z-2 & Z-4-59) ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS OF THE SAID MAP, having been reported on favorably, was read in full to the Board. Adopted Commissioner Whipple moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 792 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO Rezoning (Z-3-59) AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS OF THE Referred to Committee SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Sharp and Whipple for recommendation. 4-15-59
