NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING TO: C. D. BAKER, Mayor and to WENDELL BUNKER, REX A. JARRETT, HARRIS P. SHARP, REED WHIPPLE, Commissioners and GEORGE H. ROUNTHWAITE, City Manager, ROBERT W. NOTTI, Assistant City Manager, and HOWARD W. CANNON, City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas. You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day issued by Mayor Baker, a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will he held in the Mayor's Office of the City Hall, 5th and Stewart, on the 4th day of April, 1955, at the hour of 4:30 P.M. to consider the following matters: 1. Bid Opening - Jefferson Avenue Pool Building. 2. Discussion on Bid No. 55.02 - Gasoline 3. Travel Expenses - Attendance at Sewer and Water Conservation Conference April 27 to 30, 1955 - expenses of $200.00 for Louis Anton. 4. Purchase of Parking Meter Counting Machine. s/ Shirley Ballinger_____ ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager, Assistant City Manager and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas do hereby admit due service of the foregoing notice of Special Meeting. s/ C. Jarrett____________________ Las Vegas, Nevada April 4, 1955 A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 4th day of April, 1955 was called to order at the hour of 4:45 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner Harris P. Sharp Commissioner Reed Whipple Assistant City Attorney Ralston O. Hawkins Assistant City Manager Robert W. Notti City Engineer George E. Wade City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent: Commissioner Wendell Bunker City Manager George H. Rounthwaite City Attorney Howard W. Cannon This being the time heretofore set for the opening of Bid No. 55.09 for the construction of the Jefferson Avenue Pool Building, bids were received from the following firms: FAZIO CONSTRUCTION CO. $51,844.00 SIERRA CONSTRUCTION CO. 48,946.00 LONGLEY CONSTRUCTION CO. 45,598.00 Commissioner Sharp moved that these bids be referred to the City Engineer for tabulation, computation and recommendation back to the Board on April 6, 1955* Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. At this time Director of Public Works George E. Wade reported that a telegram had been received from the Tide Water Associated Oil Company requesting that Bid No. 55*02 awarded to them on March 21, 1955 be reconsidered. Mr. Wade explained that the discount shown in Column II of the bid form was for explanatory purposes only and had already been deducted from the bid price. Mr. Wade further recommended that the request of Tide Water Associated that they not be held to the bid be accepted, and the Commission consider awarding this bid to the Texas Company who are actually the low bidder. 4-4-55 BID NO. 55.09 JEFFERSON AVENUE POOL BUILDING Opening BID NO. 55.02 Gasoline Recision & Reaward
