JUNE, 1920 I ? Docket No. 53.— Asbestos, Cement, Chicago, Peoria, St. Louis and other points of origin named in W. T. L. Tariff No. 78-A, I. C. C. No. A-990, to points on and west of the Missouri River shown in above tariff. Present, Asbestos Cement, C. L,, in some tariff rates were advanced 25% by General Order 28; in others a specific advance of 2 cents per 100 lbs. over June 24, 1918, rates was made; proposed, to advance rates to basis of 25% higher than rates in effect June 24, 1918. (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 1, 1920.) Approved recommendation of the' Standing Rate Committee, subject to ..like action on the part of the . Southwestern Freight Bureau lines, which contemplates that .all agency, and individual tariffs be corrected to provide for rates on Asbestos Cement on basisof 25 % increase over June 24, 1918, rates, plus 35%. Definite announcement will be made later. Docket No. 54.— Quarry, Sand or Gravel Pit Strippings (refuse dirt and clay), between points in Illinois and Wisconsin, state or interstate via C. & N. W. R. R. Present, Class rates; proposed, same as apply on Sand and Gravel in C. & N. W. R’y G. F. D. No. 16144-G, I. C. C. 8385. (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 1, 1920.) Approved recommendation of the Standing Rate Committee which contemplates that tariffs of all lines be amended to include sand and gravel pit strippings at the rates in effect on sand and gravel, and that strippings of stone quarries be included at rates in effect on stone. Approved recommendation of the Standing Rate Committee as follows: The present minimum weights, but not less than 24,000 lbs., be continued subject to minimum charge equal to 21,000 lbs. at the fresh meat rate, except that in connection with proportional rates to Mississippi River points on traffic destined east of the Illinois- Indiana State Line now subject to minimum weight of 20,000 lbs., minimum weight 21,000 lbs. be applied. Approved report of the Standing Rate Committee which recommends declination of the application as submitted and provides for a rate check.with a view to correcting the present tariff situation. Docket No. 58.— Switching Rates at South Omaha, account Ak-Sar-Ben Exposition and Fair Grounds. Present* no provision; proposed, to amend C. & N. W.-G. F. D. 8419-C, applying on intrastate traffic and C. & N. W. G. F. D. 8419-D, applying on interstate traffic, naming list of industries and switching rates applying on line haul traffic at Omaha and South Omaha to include as an industry at South Omaha the Ak-Sar-Ben Exposition and Fair Grounds at West Lawn to provide a reciprocal switching rate to and from C. &N. W. connection with other carriers at,South Omaha of $6.00 per car. to amend C. & N. W .-G. F. D. 11863-C-O, covering industrial switching rates between South Omaha and the Fair Grounds referred to above, to provide rate of 1.5 cents, minimum 60,000 lbs. per car. (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 10, 1920.) Approved recommendation of the Standing Rate Committee as follows: Amend C. & N. W.-G. F. D. 8419-C, applying on intrastate traffic, and C. & N. W.-G. F. D. 8419-D, applying on interstate traffic, naming list of industries and switching rates applying on line haul traffic at Omaha and South Omaha to include as an industry at South Omaha the Ak-Sar-Ben Exposition and Fair Grounds at West Lawn, to provide a reciprocal switching rate to and from connection with other carriers at South Omaha, of $6.00 per car. Amend C. & N. W.-G. F. D. 11863-C-O, covering industrial switching rates between South Omaha and the Fair Grounds, referred to above, to provide rate of 1.5c. per 100 lbs., minimum 60,000 lbs. per car. Rate Advice No. 3 announces that the above changes have been published. Docket No. 59.—Reconsignment rules in connection with carload freight from and to points in W. T. L.~ territory. Present,.Orders for diversion or reconsignment will not be accepted under these rules at or to a station or to a point of delivery against which ao-embargo is in force, or (except on perishable freight, coal, coke or fuel oil) to a station or to a point of delivery against which an embargo was in force at the time that the shipment was forwarded from point of origin. Shipments made under authorized permits are not subject to this condition; proposed, correct rule to substitute the following for the last sentence.: “ Shipments made under authorized permits issued either prior or subsequent to departure from original point of origin are not subject to these conditions.” (See Standing Rate Committee’s report, dated June 2, 1920.) Approved report of the Standing Rate Committee as follows: Recommended concurrence in the interpretation of the American Railroad Association Committee on Reconsignment as follows: “ Under current tariff rules, shipments cannot be reconsigned to an embargoed point on permits issued subsequent to the date of the bill of lading.” It is further recommended, in the event the above recommendation is approved, that the chairman advise chairmen of other organ!* zations accordingly, as uniformity is desired in reconsigning lules.
