Las Vegas, Nevada January 10, 195& Mr, E, E, Bennett: cc - Mr. V. w. Smith Mr. R. L. Adamson Mr. w. A. Jurden With reference to the above entitled application No, 15754, please he advised that Mr, LeRoy Maag and I conferred with Mr, Francis Thorne, local well supervisor of the State Engineer and Mr, H, Winchester, representative of the State Engineer’s office from Carson City, on January 7, 1955, I believe our discussion has now cleared up any confusion in the State Engineer’s office between our Permit No, 15140 and our Application No, 15754, Since the issuance of our Permit No, 15140 to transfer 2 , 5 c.f.s. of water, and prior to the filing of our Proof of Commencement of Work under this permit, we filed application No, 15754 transferring 1,4 c.f.s, of water from the location authorized by Permit No. 15140 to a new point of diversion. Application No. 15754 was filed after discussions with Mr. Hugh Shamberger, State Engineer, but apparently he was the only person aware of the procedure which we were following pursuant to our discussions. Because we have now filed our Proof of Commencement of Work under Permit No, 15140, showing compliance with the conditions of such permit, and because our conference has clarified this matter for Mr. H. Winchester as well as Mr. Francis Thorne, I feel sure that Application No. 15754 will be approved in the very near future and that such approval will authorize the drilling of a well at the new point of diversion described in said application. I anticipate that we will receive the requested authority in the next week or two and I will transmit the same to you at once. CALVIN M. CORY
