CANNON, City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day issued by Mayor Cragin, a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, 5th & Stewart, on the 2nd day of October 1950. at the hour of 3:00 P.M. to consider the following matters: 1. New Liquor applications for the 4th Quarter of 1950. s/ Shirley Ballinger City Clerk ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, do hereby admit due service of the foregoing Notice of Special Meeting: s/ E.W. Shellev______ s/ Howard W. Cannon________________ A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners held this 2nd day of October, 1950 was called to order by His Honor Mayor E.W. Cragin at the hour of 3:15 P.M. with the following members present: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple; City Manager C.W. Shelley, City Attorney Howard W. Cannon and City Clerk Shirley Ballinger. PROPOSED REZONING His Honor Mayor Cragin stated that by reason of the fact that the Board had Govt Lot 2, Sec. 2 received a request from the parties making the appeal for the rezoning of T 21 S Government Lot 2, Section 2, T 21 S, R 61 E, MDB&M from R-1 to R-4, for additional time before this decision is rendered, no action would be taken at this time. Mr. C.L. Martin verified this request and asked that this matter be held in abeyance until a week from Wednesday. Mr. William Shearer, one of the property owners protesting this proposed rezoning stated he could see no reason for the delay in this matter, and would like an answer today. Thereafter Commissioner Moore moved the aforementioned matter be held in abeyance until Wednesday October 11, 1950 at the hour of 3:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye: noes, none. STATE BUILDING - Request Commissioner Peccole moved that inasmuch as public opinion is against for location in City Park locating the State Building on City Park site, the Board go on record as opposing the granting of a site in the City Park for the State Building. Further the Board recommends that Harrison Stocks be contacted. for his site located approximately at 19th Street on Fremont. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
