Commissioner Fountain moved the application of the Police Athletic League to conduct a dance and raffle be deferred until later in the meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Elwell and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor, Mayor Gragson, voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Guy and Evelyn Chiaverini for a beer license at Chiaverini's Sausage Shop, 1221 S. Main, be approved, on the basis of favorable police report, and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor, Mayor Gragson, voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Elwell moved the application of Abe Fox for a beverage license at The Caje, 303½ Wall, be approved, on the basis of favorable police report, and the Supervisor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor, Mayor Gragson, voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Fountain moved the application of Thomas A. Mulroy, of 639 S. Van Ness Avenue, Los Angeles, California, for a detective license for the Wm. J. Burns International Detective Agency be approved, on the basis of favorable police report, and the Super­visor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor, Mayor Gragson, voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp passed his vote. Commissioner Whipple moved the application of Ann Kogstat for a second-hand license at Ann's New & Used Merchandise, 714 N. Main, be approved, on the basis of favorable police report, and the Super­visor of License and Revenue authorized to issue the license. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor, Mayor Gragson, voting aye; noes, none.
