I agree.t 60-A May 14,1904. Dr • J *iC# I* . BiT'ciG ken, Ml Vegas P.0., lineoIn Go., lev. Dear Sir:- I am in receipt of a letter from Mr.Whittemore in which he advises that the Stewarts have acquired a tract of land adjoining the lower field, and that they have forbidden yon repairing or fixing the fence line, and yon had stated to him if was difficult for yon to use all the water and yon feared almost any time the Stewarts would take the water when yon were not using it and try to hold it on the claim it was surplus water. It has occurred to me that to be on the safe aide, it might be well to make some additional ditches to take the water out and distribute it on our pasture lands,or any other land, you can use it to advantage. We have certaihly land enough of.our own to take up all the water if properly used,. I trust you win look this -after over and protect our interests every way possible. You could make some cheap ditches by plowing. We have bought some additional land lately, which would be, 1 presume on the south side of our present holdings. It might be you could make a cheap ditch,by taking it out quite a ways up, get it on to this mesa land. Very truly yours, f ff# CLARK.
