Main 1 slot ESQUIRE BAR Thomas J. Tobin 120 South 2nd 6 slots HAROLD & VAUGHN'S Gayer Company 1st & Ogden 1 slot THE MARKET SPOT Harry Levy 117 Carson 4 slots SMITHS-DRIVE IN Bert Smith 3rd & Stewart 3 slots SWINGING DOOR SALOON Sam Taylor 111 North 1st 4 slots TASTY PASTRY Ted Michelas 425 Fremont 2 slots Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing applications for gaming licenses be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Additionals Commissioner Moore moved the applications for additional gaming licenses for third quarter of 1950 of BOULDER CLUB Boulder Club, Inc. 118 Fremont 1 pan & 1 bridge GOLDEN NUGGET, INC. Golden Nugget, Inc, 2nd & Fremont 1 slot be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following votes Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. New Commissioner Moore moved the application of Southern Nevada Vending Co., for three slot machines at the Old Curiosity Shop, 26 Fremont for the third quarter of 1950 be allowed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing license be issued subject to the Southern Nevada Vending Co. securing the State License for these machines. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Changes At this time the following applications for gaming license for the third quarter of 1950 being change of Operator or name were presented to the Board for their consideration: CHARLESTON INN Vegas Sweet Shop 17 W. Charleston 2 slots WHITE SPOT CAFE James Pappas & 109 Fremont 5 slots Marjorie J. Sima JOE'S LUNCH Southern Nevada Vending 119 South 1st 2 slots Thereafter Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing applications be allowed. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the. following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. SOLICITORS LICENSE At this time Mr. C. H. Everest, 111 E. Lewis Street appeared before the Board relative to the securing of a Solicitors license. Mr. Everest explained that he was a Spanish American War Veteran and would like to sell his product, but could not afford to pay the license fee required by ordinance. Mr. Everest was requested to present the proper affidavits to the Board stating why he could not afford to pay the required fee, and the Board of Commissioners would act on his appeal at that time. BIDS ON ASSESSMENT At this time informal bids received from Graybar Electric Co. of Los Angeles and DISTRICT #100-3 Shock Electric Company of Las Vegas on the Street Lighting System portion of Assessment Electrical Portion District #100-3 was presented to the Board for their consideration. Commissioner Moore moved the recommendation of the City Manager that the Bid on the above mentioned assessment district be awarded to Shock Electric Co. in the amount of $5482.73, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. LIQUOR LICENSES - Commissioner Bunker moved the action heretofore taken on June 28, 1950 granting a Action rescinded Retail Restaurant Beverage license to Josephine M. Parrish, Topper’s Kitchen, 419 South 5th Street be rescinded due to the fact this business is located too close to the School. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Bunker moved the action heretofore taken on July 7, 1950 granting a Retail Restaurant Beverage license to William C. La Russo, Filipo’s Italian Delicatessen, 510 South 5th be rescinded due to the fact that this business is located too close to the School. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple.
