OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. MARCH 5th, 1934. Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, held on the 5th day of March 1934, at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Roll call showed the following present, Mayor Pro Tem German, Commissioners Arnett, Marble and Down, City Attorney and Clerk Mayor Cragin arriving late. All claims allowed as per claims and warrant register on file in the office of the Clerk. A copy of the yearly report for the year 1933 was presented to the Board. Same having been prepared by Alfred Blackman, auditor for the City. The transfer of the beverage license from A.E. Stephenson at the De Lux Auto court to Clare McInery was brought before the Board for consideration. City Attorney Henderson ruling that the application for transfer was in proper form on motion of Commissioner Down seconded by Commissioner Marble it was moved and carried that the license be transferred. Vote on said motion was as follows: Commissioners Arnett, Marble and Down and Mayor Pro Tem German voting aye. Noes none. Money received for the month of February 1934 as follows: Fines $602.00 Fines 15.00 Sale of Cemetery Lots 39.00 Poll Tax. 37.50 Sidewalk material 1.798.30 Licenses, Fees and misc. collections. 2,491.80 Money proportioned as follows: $2,400.30 Police and Fire Fund. 15.00 Cemetery Fund ____76.50 Street Fund. 2,491.80 Total At this time the adopting of the budget for the City of Las Vegas for the year 1934 was brought before the Board. Same having been prepared by Alfred W. Blackman, auditor for the City of Las Vegas under the direction of the various members of the Board of City Commissioners. After a length discussion on the budget as presented to the Board on motion of Commissioner Arnett seconded by Commissioner Marble it was moved and seconded that the Budget for the year 1934 be adopted in the following form: City of Las Vegas, Nevada 1933. CITY BUDGETS ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, 1934. As taxes levied in 1934 will be used for 1935 expenses it is necessary to include 1935 estimates in the 1934 budget. These estimates will be revised in 1935 budget.
