Gottshcall An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO, AND MAKING A PnRT OF THe CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CERTAIN SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED TERRITORY ADJOINING AND CONTIGUOUS TO THe CORPORATE LIMITS OF THe CITY OF LAS VeGAS: DECLARING SAID TERRITORY AND INHABITANTS TO BA ANNEXED THeReTO AND SUBJECT TO ALL LAWS AND ORDINANCES: ORDERING A PLAT SHOWING SAID TERRITORY to be recorded in the office of the county recorder of the county of c la rk , state of Ne v a d a : AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Bu nker moved the foregoing entitled Ordinance No. 498 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. Commissioner Peccole moved the public hearing on the vacation of the south portion of the alley located in Block 21, South Addition be held September 17, 1952 at the hour of 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent:Mayor Baker. The recommendation from the Regional Planning Commission concerning the lack of adequate streets serving the Addison-weber Tract located between Oakey Boulevard and Bracken Avenue and the exten­sions of 6th and 7th Streets, was presented to the Board for consideration. Commissioner Bunker moved that the City accept the dedication of street rights-of-way in the Addison-Weber Tract when these streets are improved by curbs, gutters, paving and sidewalks. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarret and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none, Absent; Mayor Baker. The application of Floyd Waite for a variance to permit the construction of twelve units on property situated at 722-730 South 2nd Street, as recommended by the Regional Planning Commission, was con­sidered at this time. Commissioner Jarrett moved the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission be approved and the following resolution adopted: ... R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, on the 24th day of June, 1952, Floyd Waite filed an application with the Regional Planning Commission for variance to permit the construction of twelve units on property situated at 722, 724, 726, 728 and 730 South 2nd Street in an R-3 (Multiple Dwelling) Use District; and WHEREAS, on July 24, 1952, the Regional Planning Commission held a public hearing on this application for variance, at which time no objections were raised and no communications protest­ing the granting of said variance were received; and WHeREAS, on July 24, 1952 the Regional Planning Commission approved such application for variance since they felt that such variance would not be a detriment for surrounding prop­erties; and I WHeREAS, such decision of the Regional Planning Commission was filed with the Board of City Commissioners on July 25, 1952, recommending that such variance be granted. NOW, THeREFORE, Be IT RESOLVED, the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission that Floyd Waite be granted permission to construct twelve units on property situated at 722-730 South 2nd street, be and the same hereby is approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. The recommendation from the Regional Planning Commission concerning the application of Richard E. Schroeder for variance to permit his using 647 Tonopah Drive for a business address, was pre­sented for consideration. Commissioner Jarrett moved this application be denied and the following resolution adopted: #211 R E S O L U T I O N WHeREaS, on the 2nd day of July, 1952, Richard E. Schroeder filed an application with the Regional Planning Commission for variance to permit his using 647 Tonopah Drive for a business address, said property being located in an R-E (Residence Estate) Use District; and WHEREAS, on July 10, 1952 the Regional Planning Commission held a public hearing on this application for variance, at which time no objections were raised and no communications protest­ing the granting of said variance were received; and WHEREAS, on July 10, 1952 the Regional Planning Commission approved such application for variance subject to the condition that there would be no advertising or storage of equipment and materials at this location; and WHEREa S, such decision of the Regional Planning Commission was filed with the Board of Commissioners on July 11, 1952, recommending that such variance be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ReSOLVeD, the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission that Richard E. Schroeder be granted permission to use 647 Tonopah Drive for a business address, be and the same hereby is denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, Commissioner Peccole. Absent: Mayor Baker. The recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission on the application G.W, Gottschall for a Use Permit to operate and maintain a meat processing plant on property situated south of
