existing w ell and springs or new w ell, and to allow for future decrease in capacity account age of pipe. Setfronted cost of this new 24* oast iron pipe* approximately 800 f t . long, together with fittin g s fo r connections to reservoir and existing pipe lin e , is $5995 RAE, $295 OE, $6290 to tal, which should be added to the cost figu res given in roy le tte r of October 5th. We now have one discharge line of 56* oast iron pipe leading froro reservoir, which connects with two lines of 24* pipe near reservoir, as indicated on p rin t. From connection with this 36* discharge pipe, we have two lines of pipe to point in shop grounds opposite the water softener marked *A* on prin t. The northerly lin e is 24* cast iron pipe 9638 f t . long. The southerly lin e is 9658 f t . long to this point *A*, 819,8 f t . 24* redwood stave pipe, 8382.5 ft* 16" redwood stave pipe and 435.7 f t . 18* cast iron pipe. From point *A*, single lin e 16* cast iron pipe extends easterly across shop grounds to connection with LYL«W Co main in Clark Street* We recommend renewal of approximately 3000 feet of 16* redwood pipe with 34* east iron pipe at location shown on print-as explained in my le tte r of October 5th. Increasing size o f 16* lin e to 34* is highly desirable in that larger volume of water can be delivered during periods of rapid drawoff at shops and from lin es in the o lty . A number of times during each summer season we have received complaints relative to small amount of water from taps, p articu larly on the upper flo ors of the hotels during periods of maximum use.
